Pat Shaw was an accomplished singer and musician and a skilled performer of morris, sword and country dancing. He was a keen collector and researcher of music, dance and song. He played several instruments, including oboe, guitar and accordion. But what of the legacy he left behind?

Legacy 1 – “It is all right to compose new dances”

Legacy 2 – “It is all right to come up with interpretations other than Cecil Sharp’s”

Legacy 3 – “Folk is a living tradition”

Legacy 4 – “Opening and widening the horizon of Folk Dance and Music”
