An experienced team come together to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Pat Shaw who contributed to many aspects of music, song and dance during his lifetime. His influence opened the door to his successors in the folk community particularly dance composers.

Following on from the day of celebration by EFDSS at Cecil Sharp House on the 24 September, this dance course will concentrate on many aspects of Pat’s compositions and research. During the day each workshop will look at particular aspects of Pat’s prolific production. The evening dance sessions will offer a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy many well-known items from the repertoire. Musicians who would like to join in playing during the final evening dance are encouraged to bring their instruments. (Practice sessions will be provided)

Who’s it for?
Dancers with some knowledge of English Country Dance will benefit from the course which will aim to stretch their abilities.

Sunday Workshops of English Country Dance 2016 to include Pat Shaw Dances

Kathryn and David Wright will be including several Pat Shaw dances in each of their Sunday Workshops in Lichfield. These workshops are held on the evenings of second Sundays from September through to March. The dates for 2017 are January 8th, February 12th, March 12th, 10th September, 8th October, 12th November and 10th December.
